Hi I'm Chrismen! I'm a professional MUA based in Cape Town, South Africa. I am qualified in Special Effects, Television, Film, Theatre, Fashion & Bridal Make-up.

My MUA journey started way before my studies-I was the girl wearing very bright (and sometimes too much) make-up to church, family outings and anywhere else I was allowed to go wearing it! Make-up has always been a form of expression for me and during varsity I was wearing lots of traditional African and Indian inspired make-up art- much to the demise of my parents! 

 

After completing my Honors in Psychology- and whilst doing my counselling internship- I entered a competition to win a bursary to study at The Make Up Issue in 2010. This was the first competition I had ever won (even to this day!)- It must have been God! -He knew what working in the counselling field had in-store for me and that I'd need an escape!

 

 I had amazing teachers who really pushed me to be the best MUA I could be and (unknowingly) encouraged my OCD tendencies when it came to make-up (straight lines & precision) and cleanliness. Soon after completing my studies I started working in Bridal Make-up and haven't looked back since! I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT! The look on a Bride's face when she sees herself for the first time after the make-up's been applied, is priceless (as is mine!- the pic above is of me looking at a bride after her make-up was done.LOL)! I feel honored to be part of such an important day and am always doing my utmost to ensure that the Bride looks flawless!
